If I read that correct does that mean when you hit the Navigation icon the old MyGuide software actually starts up? Or does it just take you to where the MyGuide software is located by means of a file explorer? Why I ask that is if the MyGiude software actually starts when you hit that Navagation icon then simply replacing the Myguide software with iGO8 (folder structure and names exactly the same) might be how to get it running.
Also in post number 6 you said 'The Navigation icon only takes me straight into the old 'MyGuide' software.' If it makes no difference I guess you should probably change it back to 0 again. In these types of files 0 usually means whatever it refers to is disabled and 1 means it's enabled. GPS = 'icons/files.bmp', ', 0 & see if that old shortcut appears then. In post number 6 you mentioned you previously used a shortcut that appeared once you started the device, but now it no longer appears, is that correct? The E-buyer forum was where I found out how to update the maps some years ago. Thanks for trying to help, but I'd been using the reset button for a good few seconds every time I changed the SD card in the sat-nav. I add this since it has not been mentioned and may be relevant. What I noticed in the threads was that if you alter addons.txt or igopath.txt then you need to hold the reset button for two seconds then when you switch back on the changes take effect - a bit like deleting the save file on other units.
